The European Collection of Authenticated Cell Cultures (ECACC)
We supply authenticated and quality controlled cell lines, nucleic acids and induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs)
Established in 1985 to service the research community and provide an International Depository Authority recognised patent depository for Europe, ECACC has expanded and diversified over the last 30 years to become one of the premier collections of authenticated cell cultures in the world.
ECACC is one of four Culture Collections of the UK Health Security Agency and currently hold cell lines representing 45 different species, 50 tissue types, 300 HLA types, 450 monoclonal antibodies and at least 800 genetic disorders. The development and maintenance of such a diverse collection has inevitably produced a high level of specialist knowledge and this, combined with the support of the UK Health Security Agency, has enabled ECACC to position itself as a centre of expertise in all aspects of cell culture.
We have a comprehensive range of cell culture services, including cell line authentication and training courses, and we also provide high quality nucleic acids extracted from cell lines.
Take a look at our YouTube playlist for 'A Guide to Successful Cell Culture', and download the fourth edition of the laboratory handbook, which covers key topics including the sourcing of cell lines, quality control. It also includes detailed protocols for induced pluripotent stem cells and for growing cells in 3D cell culture.
